Hi {{first_name}} ,
Monday’s CWIM-P intro class confirmed something we’ve been hearing for a while:
Occupational health programs want a clearer, more credible way to lead workers’ comp injury management for their employer clients—not just treat injuries and hope the system works itself out.
If you joined us live, thank you for being there.
If you couldn’t attend, we’ve pulled together the key takeaways so you can quickly get up to speed.

What the CWIM-P program delivers
The Certified Workers’ Comp Injury Management Professional (CWIM-P) program—developed jointly by NAOHP and Amaxx—is designed specifically for occupational health leaders, business development teams, and providers.
Participants learn how to:
Align clinical care with employer expectations and claim outcomes
Standardize RTW decisions, documentation, and communication
Use simple metrics to demonstrate value to employers
Confidently position injury management as a core service line
Launch or expand a real employer engagement as a capstone practicum
Certification requires:
Completion of 6 core learning modules
A real-world capstone practicum with an employer
A final exam to validate competency
What Participants Are Saying About the CWIM-P Course
The CWIM-P program is designed to change how occupational health teams think, collaborate, and act around workers’ comp injury management. Even during the course itself, participants are identifying gaps, aligning with partners, and applying concepts immediately.
🎥 Course Highlights & Participant Feedback:
“It helps us see both sides of the coin.”
Data, insight, and stronger clinic–safety partnership
“Those numbers do help. Those numbers give us insight on things. On the clinic side, we’re seeing patients on a schedule, treating them, and then we’re kind of done. But when Heather’s team gives us insight like that, it does help. I think Heather and I would like to work together more and look at both sides of the coin together.”
— TJ, Clinic Provider
Why this matters:
The course reframes injury management as a shared responsibility, using data to bridge the gap between clinical operations and safety/EHS strategy.
“It shed light on issues we didn’t fully see before.”
Identifying real problems—and practical fixes
“It has definitely shed light on some of our stuff. I was talking to both of my case managers today about claims, and we found one little hiccup with our lag time. The takeaways were supervisor training, and then also a one-sheeter between the adjuster and the case manager.”
— Paul, Course Participant
Why this matters:
CWIM-P doesn’t stop at concepts. It drives participants to uncover specific operational breakdowns and walk away with clear, implementable solutions.
“I’m already planning to track the impact.”
Applying course concepts in real time
“I’m projecting that me being there is gonna help with lag time and indemnity costs. I’m gonna be interested to see and track that as the months and quarters go by.”
— Paul S, Onsite Provider
Why this matters:
Participants leave the course thinking in terms of measurement, trends, and outcomes—not just visits or isolated claims.
What These Testimonials Reflect
These comments are coming during and immediately after the CWIM-P course, not years later. They reflect:
Better use of data, not just documentation
Stronger clinic–safety–claims collaboration
Early identification of lag time and handoff issues
A shift toward tracking impact over time, not anecdotes
This is exactly what the certification is designed to produce—and what the final exam and capstone practicum formally validate.
Cohort details (starting Monday, Feb 2)
Cohort start: Monday (4 days from now)
Format: Live sessions with recordings available

A quick note on fit
This program is a good fit if you:
Work with or want to work more closely with employer clients
Are tired of workers’ comp being treated as a black box
Want a structured, defensible way to talk about outcomes and value
Prefer applied learning over theory-only education
If that sounds like you, we’d be glad to have you in this first cohort.
See you Monday,
Larry
